Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) added to their roster 32-year old American power forward Rickey Young (205cm-100kg-1990, college: WVU Tech). Young moved there from Qurrain in Kuwaiti D1 league where he played this season.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in ten different countries. Young has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Riffa), Finland (HoNsU Basket), Germany (46ers), Iraq (Al Karkh and Al Naft), Kosovo (Bashkimi), Montenegro, Qatar (Al Khor), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal and Al Nasr), Bolivia (La Salle Olympic CBBA Cochabamba, La Salle Tarija and Calero) and United Arab Emirates (Baniyas).
He graduated from West Virginia University Institute of Technology in 2011 and it is his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Ricky Young is the only player from USA, that is born 1990, and have 2 years experience in European league, outstanding jumping abilities, and athleticism, very fast, run floor good, good rebounder, blocker, can shoot from outside, team player, very coachable, definitely NBA potential..
