Al Nasr Benghazi (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old Senegalese ex-international 213cm forward Ibrahima Thomas (college: Cincinnati), agency: BIG. It is actually his comeback to Benghazi as he has played here before. Thomas moved there from Orthodox in Jordanian Premier League where he played this season. In 21 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.9ppg, 10.8rpg (#4 in the league), 3.2apg, 1.6spg and 2.0bpg. He helped them to make it to the Jordanian League final after they ended regular season as second best team.
Thomas also represented Senegal at the Afrobasket Championship in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) nine years ago. Thomas' team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 7 games: 3.0ppg, 3.1rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Thomas' pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America) in ten different countries. Thomas has played previously professionally in Bahrain, Iran (Azad), Japan (Saitama), Lebanon (Hoops), Qatar (Al Sadd), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal and Al Ittihad), Spain (Caceres), Tunisia (ES Rades and US Ansar) and Mali (AS Police).
He graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2012 and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
