BRANDIS RALEY-ROSS

Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) agreed terms with 31-year old American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (191-92kg-87, college: S.Carolina) after he was tested there shortly. He played recently at Cibona in Croatian Premijer Liga, but left. In 11 games he had 9.4ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg this season. Raley-Ross also played 11 games in ABA League where he recorded 9.5ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.9apg. The last season he played at Mornar Bar in Montenegrin league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and Raley-Ross had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 16 FIBA Europe Cup games he averaged 9.7ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.7apg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. Raley-Ross also played 25 games in ABA League where he was fourth best scorer with 13.3ppg and got 3.5rpg and 2.9apg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. Raley-Ross also played 16 games in Montenegrin Erste Liga where he got 14.4ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.6apg. He contributed to his team winning the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. They also made it to the Cup final. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Montenegrin League 2nd Team and All-Imports Team. And finally Raley-Ross played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 4.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.0apg.
Three years ago (six years after he left the college) Raley-Ross was drafted by Erie BayHawks (D-League) in sixth round (98th overall).
The former University of South Carolina standoutis in his ninth season in pro basketball.
Raley-Ross is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Bulgaria (Beroe), Estonia (BC Rakvere), Greece (Panelefsiniakos), Lithuania (Lietkabelis), Slovakia (Iskra Svit), Latvia (Kalev/Cramo) and NBA G League (Erie Bay Hawks).

D1 Round 14: Shabab beats Al Yarmook in a derby game - 5 days ago
Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tripoli: Shabab (#5) and Al Yarmook (#4). Al Yarmook was smashed at home by 18 points 41-59 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Shabab maintains fifth position in Group A with 4-10 record. Al Yarmook at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tripoli: Al...   [read more]
