D1 Round 5: An Naser is defeated by Ahly Tripoli - Nov 16, 2016

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in D1. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked An Naser (6-0) on the court of twelfth ranked Ahly Tripoli on Monday night. Visitors were rolled over by Ahly Tripoli 100-16. Ahly Tripoli (8-1) moved-up to second place. Newly promoted An Naser still keeps top position with 0 game lost. Ahly Tripoli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. An Naser will play on the road against the league's second-placed Ahly Benghazi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Tobruk. Leader host An Naser (6-0) smashed 4th placed Kaled BA (2-4) 108-26. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kaled BA. Newly promoted An Naser maintains first place with 6-0 record. Kaled BA at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Al Hilal. An Naser will play against league's second-placed Ahly Benghazi on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kaled BA will play against Al Hilal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
D1 top team - Ahly Benghazi (5-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Al Murooj (3-3) 85-73. Ahly Benghazi have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Ahly Benghazi went down to second position due to points difference. Al Murooj lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the third place with three games lost. Ahly Benghazi will meet at home league's leader An Naser in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Murooj will play against Al Tahaddi and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Al Tahaddi (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to ninth ranked Al Hilal (2-4) 64-48. Al Hilal moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kaled BA. Al Tahaddi at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Al Hilal's next round opponent will be Kaled BA (#5). Al Tahaddi will play against Al Murooj and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 5 Al Wahda won against Al Yarmook on the opponent's court 77-71.

Olympic - Ichaa 66-75

The game in was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Ichaa (4-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Olympic (2-6). Ichaa managed to secure a 9-point victory 75-66 on Tuesday. Newly promoted Ichaa maintains fifth place with 4-4 record. Olympic at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tripoli: Shabab (#5) and Al Yarmook (#4).
