Al Ahly Tripoli crowned Libyan champions - May 9, 2014

Al Ahly Tripoli are crowned Libyan League champions. They overcame their rivals Al Ittihad in the Final. It was a close battle between two well-matched teams. Al Ahly managed to eke out a narrow 54:52 victory at the end.
The teams entered the championship game after occupying top two teams in the second stage ladder. Ittihad enjoyed the best record in the league heading into the encounter but Al Ahly beat the odds and celebrated the trophy.


Al Nasr clinch Libyan Cup title - Jun 12, 2014

Al Nasr Benghazi celebrated the Libyan Cup title. They held off Al Ittihad 56:49 in the Final. The game took place at the Sulaiman Al-Derrat Hall in Benghazi. Ittihad stayed in charge throughout the bigger part of the game. But Al Nasr Benghazi stepped on the gas in the fourth quarter and sealed the winning outcome. Although Nasr won the cup, Al-Ahly Tripoli won the basketball league this season. Nasr and Ahly will represent Libya next year in the Arab tournament and in the African championship.
