Bayern keeps Hunter for another season

Othello Hunter

FC Bayern Muenchen (BBL) re-signed experienced 36-year old American (has also Liberian passport) 203cm center Othello Hunter (college: Ohio State) for upcoming season. Hunter played there last season. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). The team played in three different competitions that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In two games he averaged 6.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.5apg and 1.0bpg. His team made it to the the German Bundesliga final. Hunter also played 23 games in BBL where he had 7.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.0apg. He helped them to make it to the German Bundesliga final. And finally he contributed to 35 games in Euroleague where he recorded 7.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.1apg. Hunter contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. The last season he played at Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israeli Winner League. In 21 games he got 9.0ppg and 5.2rpg in 2020-2021 season. He contributed to his team winning the league title and the cup. Hunter also played 27 games in Euroleague where he got 8.0ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.0apg.
In 2008 Pittsburgh Xplosion voted him as third overall pick in CBA draft.
He graduated from Ohio State and it will be his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Hunter has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He is a very experienced player. Hunter has played also professionally in China, Greece (Olympiacos and Ilysiakos), Italy, Russia (CSKA Moscow), Spain (Real Madrid and Valladolid), Ukraine (Mariupol) and NBA (Atlanta Hawks).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Bayern.
His game is described as: A very good rebounder and scorer, has good post moves and can spend time in the classic center position, with shoulders to the basket. Has yet upside, some expect him to turn NBA material very soon.
