Hapoel UNET Holon (Winner League) confirmed in their roster 32-year old American (has also Liberian passport) point guard Joe Ragland (182cm-80kg-1989, college: Wichita State) for season 2022-2023. Ragland joins another USA player Calvin Harris who is already in the roster.
He played there last season. In 34 Winner League games he recorded 13.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 6.1apg and 1.2spg. He also played 19 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 12.1ppg, 3.2rpg, 7.6apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to make it to the Basketball Champions League Final Four. The last season he played at Hapoel Eilat. In 33 Winner League games he had 14.8ppg, 3.1rpg, 7.5apg and 1.5spg in 2020-2021 season. Ragland contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. He also played 4 games in Balkan League where he got 13.5ppg, 1.8rpg, 3.5apg and 1.0spg.
Ragland has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Ragland has played also professionally in Italy (Milano, Cantu and Avellino), Russia (Lokomotiv), Serbia (Crvena Zvezda), Spain (Murcia) and Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka and Dacka).
He graduated from Wichita State in 2012 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A super quick and energic combo guard player. Ragland's a very good outside shooter and scorer, his powerful body enables him to be very effective at the defensive side too. Great upside, even at Euroleage level.
