Hapoel Holon (Winner League) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old American (has also Liberian passport) 182cm point guard Joe Ragland, college: Wichita State for season 2021-22. Ragland played most recently at H.Eilat (Winner League). In 33 games he recorded 14.8ppg, 3.1rpg, 7.5apg and 1.5spg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Great season indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League 2nd Team. He also played 4 games in Balkan League where he averaged 13.5ppg, 1.8rpg, 3.5apg and 1.0spg.
Part of previous (2019-20) season he spent at Acqua S.Bernardo Cantu in Italian Serie A. In 9 games he had 8.0ppg, 3.8rpg and 5.9apg. Ragland also spent pre-season at Dacka (BSL) in Turkish league.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He is a very experienced player. Ragland has played also professionally in Russia (Lokomotiv), Serbia (Crvena Zvezda), Spain (UCAM Murcia), Italy (AX Armani Exchange Milano and Avellino) and Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka).
Among many awards he won Adriatic League championship title in 2019. He was also selected to Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League Guard of the Year in 2019.
He attended Wichita State until 2012 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A super quick and energic combo guard player. Ragland's a very good outside shooter and scorer, his powerful body enables him to be very effective at the defensive side too. Great upside, even at Euroleage level.
