Othello Hunter

Experienced 35-year old American (has also Liberian passport) center Othello Hunter (203cm-102kg-86, college: Ohio State, agency: David Lee Services) left Defending champion Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv (Winner League). Hunter played there also last season. In 21 games he recorded 9.0ppg and 5.2rpg. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention. He played there also last season. Hunter also played 27 games in Euroleague where he averaged 8.0ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.0apg.
In 2008 he was drafted by Pittsburgh Xplosion (CBA) as #3 pick overall.
The former Ohio State standout is in his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Hunter has played also professionally in China, Greece (Olympiacos and Ilysiakos), Italy, Russia (CSKA Moscow), Spain (Real Madrid and Valladolid), Ukraine (Mariupol) and NBA (Atlanta Hawks).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was selected Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Center of the Year in 2019.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A very good rebounder and scorer, has good post moves and can spend time in the classic center position, with shoulders to the basket. Has yet upside, some expect him to turn NBA material very soon.
