Darussafaka inks Joe Ragland

Darussafaka Istanbul (BSL) signed 29-year old American (has also Liberian passport) point guard Joe Ragland (182-80kg-89, college: Wichita State). He played last season at Crvena Zvezda in Serbian KLS league. In 16 Eurocup games he had 14.8ppg, 1.9rpg, 6.0apg and 1.3spg. Ragland also played 22 games in ABA League where he recorded 10.7ppg, 2.1rpg, 5.7apg (top 2) and 1.1spg.
Ragland won Adriatic League championship title and the Supercup.
The previous (17-18) season he played at Lokomotiv in Russian league. In 18 Eurocup games he averaged 11.7ppg, 2.2rpg, 3.7apg and 1.0spg. Ragland also played 21 games in VTB United League where he got 12.1ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.7apg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He has played also professionally in Italy (Armani Milano and Avellino), Spain (UCAM Murcia) and Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka).
Ragland attended Wichita State until 2012 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
He could be described: A super quick and energic combo guard player. He's a very good outside shooter and scorer, his powerful body enables him to be very effective at the defensive side too. Great upside, even at Euroleage level.
