Othello Hunter
Defending champion Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (Winner League) added to their roster 33-year old American (has also Liberian passport) center Othello Hunter (203-102kg-86, college: Ohio State, agency: David Lee Services). He has played for the last two seasons at CSKA Moscow in Russian VTB league. In 36 Euroleague games he recorded 7.7ppg and 4.3rpg last season. Hunter helped them to win two European trophies (in both Euroleague and VTB United League !!!). He also played 28 games in VTB United League where he averaged 9.5ppg and 4.2rpg. Hunter contributed to his team winning the VTB United League championship.
In 2008 he was drafted by Pittsburgh Xplosion (CBA) as #3 pick overall.
The former Ohio State standoutis in his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012. Hunter was voted Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Center of the Year in 2019.
He is quite experienced player. Hunter has played also professionally in China, Greece (Olympiacos and Ilysiakos), Italy, Spain (Real Madrid and Carramimbre), Ukraine (Mariupol) and NBA (Atlanta Hawks).
On Hunter: A very good rebounder and scorer, has good post moves and can spend time in the classic center position, with shoulders to the basket. Has yet upside, some expect him to turn NBA material very soon.
