Zenit Saint Petersburg (VTB) added to their roster 28-year old American (has also Liberian passport) point guard Joe Ragland (181-80kg-89, college: Wichita State). He played last season at Lokomotiv (VTB). In 18 Eurocup games he recorded 11.7ppg, 2.2rpg, 3.7apg and 1.0spg. Ragland also played 21 games in VTB United League where he averaged 12.1ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.7apg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week.
The previous (16-17) season he played at Scandone in Italian Serie A. In 35 games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 17.7ppg and had 3.3rpg, 5.1apg and 1.4spg. Ragland helped them to make it to the Supercup final and to the league semifinals. A very spectacular season in his career as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Guard of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Imports Team. Ragland also played 15 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 14.6ppg, 3.7rpg and 5.2apg.
Ragland has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
His team won MVC Regular Season in 2012.
Ragland has played also professionally in Spain (UCAM Murcia), Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka) and Italy (Armani Milano and MIA-RO Cantu).
He attended Wichita State until 2012 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.

A super quick and energic combo guard player. He's a very good outside shooter and scorer, his powerful body enables him to be very effective at the defensive side too. Great upside, even at Euroleage level.
