The Liberia Basketball Association has accepted a request from the Liberia National Olympics Committee (LNOC) to have a reconciliatory meeting with aggrieved stakeholders of the association. It was earlier reported this month that the LNOC nullified the results of the Liberia Basketball Association and the Liberia Handball Association elections. Reports gathered say the LBA did not invite the LNOC and other associations at the election, which they said, was not done openly. The LNOC said if both organizations failed to adhere to their instructions, their respective international bodies (International Basketball Federation and the International Handball Federations) will be informed and subsequent action will be taken against Liberia. The tenure of the Rufus Anderson leadership expired since November 2014, and several attempts to conduct election did not materialize due to continuous fighting between the leadership and the aggrieved party, who claimed that Mr. Anderson had violated the constitution. On October 24, 2015, the body proceeded to election thus electing T. Rufus Anderson as president, Fred Ted as Vice President for Administration, Bruce Quaye, Vice President for Operations, Abiodu Thomas, Treasurer, Jarius J. Harris, Financial Secretary and Isaac Smith as chaplain, all of the elected officials won on white ballot.
