Historic Back-to-Back Champions Snipers Basketball Prepare for Premier League Debut

Snipers Basketball is set to make a landmark entry into the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) Men’s Premier League for the 2026 season. The club enters the top flight as the first team in Kenyan history to secure consecutive Division One titles, marking a meteoric rise characterized by a successful transition from a subsidiary team to a dominant independent powerhouse.

A Journey of Independence and Excellence
Historic "Double" Achievement: Snipers made history by winning the Division One championship in the 2023–2024 season and successfully defending it the following year. They are the only Kenyan side to achieve back-to-back titles in the second tier.

Transition to Independence:
The club’s first title was won while under the Ulinzi Basketball umbrella. However, they secured their second championship as a fully independent, self-sponsored entity, proving their competitive sustainability without external institutional backing.

Leadership Under William Ochieng (200-F-1985):
Head Coach and former Ulinzi Warriors captain William Ochieng has been the architect of this success. He has successfully implemented a culture of discipline, structure, and "purposeful training" derived from his years at the top level of Kenyan basketball.

A "Workhorse" Philosophy:
Coach Ochieng emphasized that the team’s success is built on character rather than a massive budget. He credits the rise of the Snipers to a deep understanding of tactical systems and a collective belief in the team's long-term project.

Ready for the Premier League Challenge:
As they prepare to face established giants like Nairobi City Thunder and KPA, the Snipers have declared they are "not there to add numbers." The management is expected to unveil a reinforced roster in the coming days to ensure they are competitive from the opening tip-off.
