Terror coach Kalman elated after sealing playoffs berth- July 28, 2025The UoN Terror basketball men's team head coach Eugene Kalman has praised his players’ effort and game plan, highlighting the team’s focus and commitment in the final stretch. The students wrapped up their basketball regular season in style, clinching back-to-back victories that sealed their place in the upcoming playoffs, after defeating ANU Wolfpacks 56-41 before beating NBK Phoenix 66-65 over the weekend. “Our game plan was to match their physicality and beat them in transition. Preparing for them was easier since we share similar qualities, and this was a must-win clash with both teams fighting to avoid relegation. We knew we had to give everything.” Kalman said. He went on: “We were able to contain them offensively, and made the necessary adjustments to secure the win. The NBK game was particularly competitive, with a few of our former players lining up for them, which added extra intensity. Kudos to NBK for pushing us all the way—we were fortunate to come out on top, clinching the victory in the final minute,” Kalman said. The soft-spoken coach praised his team’s resilience despite the challenges they faced. “We had several players out with injuries, which put us in a tough spot, but kudos to the bench for stepping up and delivering the victory. Now our focus shifts to the playoffs as we wait to see who we’ll be facing,” he said. With the double victories, Terror secured their spot in the playoffs after finishing their regular league games with 32 points from 22 matches, winning 10 and losing 12.
