University of Nairobi (UON) basketball teams head coach Eugene Kalman is aware of the hard task ahead when he leads his teams to Mombasa for national league matches. UON Dynamites will be taking on giants Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) ladies team in women’s premier league match while UON Terror will be facing KPA men team in the men’s premier league with both matches playing at Makande Gymnasium, Mombasa on Monday. “They have lots of experience, they have won the leagues a number of times and they will be at their home court. “For us it will be a tough battle because we haven’t been the best, especially in the last three weeks as we have been struggling with exams. Nevertheless, as we travel to Mombasa we look forward to a positive result,” said Kalman. Despite the difficult challenge ahead, Kalman is optimistic his players will give their best even as they try to build their young and energetic team. “I hope this time we can give them a run for their money as we have some things we are going to experiment and see how it goes. We are a young team and we are focusing on growth. Are we executing well, both defensively and offensively as we build for the second leg. “The second leg will be a lot tougher but we shall see how the games goes,” he added.
