Joel Awich signs at Quimper

Quimper UJAP (ProB) landed 30-year old American (has also Kenyan passport) 201cm forward Joel Awich (college: Cal Poly) for new season. Awich is not a newcomer in French League as he played most recently at Caen Basket Calvados in the NM1. In 45 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.1apg last season. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at Andrezieux Boutheon Loire Sud Basket (NM1) where in 36 games he had 10.1ppg and 5.1rpg in that year. Awich has been regularly called to Kenyan Senior National Team since 2020.
He has played previously professionally in France (Montbrison, Souffelweyersheim and Dax-Gamarde) and PBA (Georgia K.).
Awich won NABL championship title in 2019.
He graduated from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo University in 2016 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
