Champs KPA thrash JKUAT to complete perfect regular season- April 20, 2023
Reigning champions Kenya Ports Authority completed their Kenya National Basketball League regular season campaign on a clean run. The ports women thumped Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) 81-21 at Strathmore University Sports Complex on Sunday. This one-sided victory against the Juja-based students saw KPA garner maximum 44 points from 22 matches. The winners were in control from the start as they led in all quarters - 20-7, 14-8, 21-6 and kept Jkuat scoreless with a 26-0 run in the last stanza. Hilda Indasi (173-SG-1985) managed19 points to lead the scoring tally with Rita Anyango posting another 10 for the unbeaten coastal giants. They also stopped Zetech Sparks 52-44 after trailing 15-5 in the opening quarter. Nigerian star Ifunaya Okoro (180-F-1999, agency: The French Family Consulting) led the champions with 24 points. |
