Uganda - Kenya 53:61

Kenya rout Uganda in the opener of their 2023 AfroBasket Qualifiers. Kenya posted a 61-53 in Day 1 of the competition. Kenya started with a 16-7 run and led 9 points at the halftime. Uganda managed to reply with a 17-9 rally in the third quarter, whilst Kenya closed the game with a final 18-11 run.
Mercy Wanyama (185-C-1992) top-cored for the winners with 15 points and Christine Akinyi (198-C-1997) notched 14. Jannon Otto (183-G-1997, college: UC Riverside) posted 11 in a loss, whilst Hope Akello (183-F/C-1997) and Brenda Ekone (152-G-1996) had 10 apiece.
