Al Ahly Benghazi claimed the 2026 West Division Elite 16 title on Sunday in Praia, Cape Verde, with a commanding 105–92 victory over Jeunesse Club d'Abidjan (JCA). Al Ahly set the tone early, exploding to a 34–22 lead in the first quarter and maintaining firm control with a 26–24 second-quarter edge. Their momentum continued after halftime as they outscored JCA 28–23 in the third period, extending the gap to a point that proved insurmountable. Although JCA fought to the end and won the fourth quarter 23–17, the early damage was too great, and Al Ahly Benghazi closed out a confident and well-deserved championship win. The result crowns Al Ahly Benghazi as the 2026 West Division Elite 16 champions.
Tomislav Zubcic (213-PF-1990) top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Marcos Knight (191-G-1989, college: MTSU) netted 21. Jonathan Cisse (185-G-2001, college: Texas Southern) netted 27 points in the losing effort.
