CD Espanol Osorno (LNB) signed 26-year-old American forward Mike Fofana for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Fofana, who also holds an Ivorian passport, played for Douanes in the Senegalese N1M league last season. He averaged 10.6ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.4apg, and 1.3spg in 8 Basketball Africa League games, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. Prior to that, he played for CTC Feurs-Rozier Basket (NM1) in the French league.
During his career, Fofana traveled between three continents. He played professionally in Europe, Africa, and North America as a basketball player. Fofana has previous experience playing in France, Portugal (Sporting and Esgueira), and Ivory Coast (Abidjan Basket Club). In 2024, Fofana's team emerged victorious in the Senegalese League Group A Regular Season.
He graduated from Fofananderson State University in 2020 and it'll be his fifth season as a pro player. He played also for University of Tennessee at Martin for 2 years.
