Valencia tabs Matt Costello

Matt Costello

Valencia Basket (Liga Endesa) inked 30-year old American (has also Ivorian passport) 208cm power forward Matt Costello (college: Michigan State) for upcoming season. Costello has played for the last three years at Baskonia in the Liga Endesa. In 30 games he averaged 11.9ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.4apg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played 33 games in Euroleague where he had 9.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg. Costello helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Costello is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Italy (Avellino), NBA (San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies), NBA G League (Iowa Wolves) and NBA Summer League (Detroit Pistons). Costello's team won Big Ten Tournament in 2014 and 2016. Costello selected toGatorade Michigan High School Player of the Year back in 2011 and 2012.
He graduated from Michigan State in 2016 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
