Cote d'Ivoire - Lebanon 84-94

Lebanon claimed the first win at the Classification Round at 2023 World Cup. They fired past Cote d'Ivoire for 1-3 record in Group P. Amir Saoud (186-G-1991) stepped up with 29 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds for the winners.
Lebanon banked in 32 points in the first term to take a 12-point lead. They maintained the lead throughout the second stanza. Lebanon arrived at halftime up by 14 points 55-41. Cote d'Ivoire finally found their rhythm as they narrowed the deficit back to single digits in the third quarter. But Lebanon did not flinch and iced the victory in the fourth period. Omari Spellman (207-PF-1997, college: Villanova) tallied 25 points for the winners. Jean-Philippe Dally (200-F/G-1996) answered with 21 points, while Patrick Tape had 15 points in the loss.
