MOHAMED BAMBA

Orlando Magic tabbed 20-year old naturalized Ivorian forward Mohamed Bamba (211-98). He just graduated from Texas (NCAA). In 30 games he averaged 12.9ppg, 10.5rpg and 3.7bpg last season. He can count that year as a very successful as was selected to NABC NCAA D1 All-District 8 1st Team, All-Big 12 2nd Team and Big 12 All-Defensive Team.
This summer Bamba was drafted by the Magic in first round (6th overall). He just graduated from Texas and it is his first season in pro basketball.
Bamba represented USA at the FIBA Americas Championships U18 in Valdivia (Chile) two years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 5 games: 7.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.2bpg, FGP: 50.0%, FT: 73.3%.

This week's number one is an international center Cedric Bah (198-94). He could not help Souffelweyersheim (14-1) in their last game. Despite Bah's very good performance the first-placed Souffelweyersheim (14-1) was edged 78-76 on the road by the much lower-ranked (#11) Kaysersberg in the Group A.    [read more]
