We bring you last week's top performances from Ivorians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate (181-87, currently plays in Slovakia). He led Levice to a victory over the closely-ranked Kosice (24-8) 115-109 in the Slovakian SBL in Saturday night's game. Diabate was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 28 points and making 11 passes. Diabate also added 7 rebounds and 3 steals in 39 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Levicki Patrioti (23-9) is placed third in the SBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Diabate has relatively good stats this year: 10.9ppg, 2.3rpg, 7.3apg, 2.5spg, 2FGP: 61.4%(27-44), 3FGP: 28.0% and FT: 75.0% in eight games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Ivorian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU, currently plays in France). Abouo was the main contributor in a Provence Basket's victory against the league outsider Charleville-Mezieres (4-15) 78-64 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. He was the best player in that game. Abouo recorded 25 points, 3 assists and 4 steals in 21 minutes. FOS Provence Basket (14-5) is placed third in the ProB. This year Abouo has relatively solid stats: 13.1ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.9apg, 1.9spg, 2FGP: 53.8%, 3FGP: 34.6% and FT: 76.0% in 19 games. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and American. Abouo played for the Ivorian national team in 2013.

   #3. The Ivorian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-91, college: Portland St., currently plays in France). He contributed to a 2-point STB Le Havre's victory against the league outsider Charleville-Mezieres (4-15) 71-69 in the French ProB (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Bamba scored 6 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 23 minutes. STB Le Havre (7-8) is placed 11th in the ProB. This year Bamba's overall stats are: 3.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 2FGP: 45.5%, 3FGP: 16.7% in four games. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and French. Bamba is also a member of the Ivorian senior national team.

   #4. Swingman Guy Landry Edi (202-88, agency: Promotex, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in France) could not help Nantes (6-8) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance Nantes was defeated 82-73 at home by the lower-ranked JA Vichy (#11). Edi recorded 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Edi has reliable stats this season: 10.8ppg, 4.4rpg and 2.0apg. He has both Ivorian and French nationalities. Edi used to play for the Ivorian national team back in 2016.

Former international forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Navarra in their game against Albacete (13-7) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division), despite his good performance on Friday night. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Kone also added 2 blocks in 32 minutes. But Navarra was edged 72-69 on their home court in Pamplona by the higher-ranked (#4) Albacete. It was Navarra's third consecutive loss in a row. It's Kone's first season with the team. His stats this year are: 13.6ppg, 8.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1bpg in 20 games. Kone also holds two passports: Ivorian and American. He used to play for the Ivorian national team three years ago.

   #6. An experienced center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in France) faced previously mentioned Guy Landry Edi in the French ProB last game. Kone contributed to a JA Vichy's victory against the closely-ranked Nantes (6-13) 82-73. He recorded 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in 25 minutes. Kone averaged so far 11.9ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.1bpg and 1.4spg in 19 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Ivorian senior team two years ago.

   #7. Former international forward Remi Dibo (201-91, agency: Octagon Europe, college: W.Virginia, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for SPO Rouen (10-9) in their game against ADA Blois (15-4) in the French ProB (second division). Dibo recorded only 4 points. SPO Rouen was badly defeated 77-59 on the road by the second-ranked ADA Blois. This season Dibo averages: 9.6ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Ivorian national team two years ago.

   #8. Small forward Ismael N'Diaye (197-82, college: FIU, currently plays in Switzerland) helped Lakers win their game against the closely-ranked Starwings (6-15) crushing them 86-62 in the Swiss SBL in Saturday night's game. N'Diaye scored 12 points and added 5 passes in 26 minutes. Riviera Lakers (2-18) are located at the very bottom in the SBL. But the situation may improve as they ended a series of eighteen consecutive loses. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year N'Diaye's total stats are: 7.3ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.4apg in 18 games. He used to play for the Ivorian national team back in 2016.

International center Aboubacar Hima (207-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Plasencia (8-12) in their game against CB Granada (15-5) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division), despite his good performance on Saturday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. But Plasencia was edged 69-67 in Granada by the second-ranked CB Granada. Hima averaged so far 11.4ppg and 8.4rpg in 19 games. He is also in the roster of the Ivorian national team.

   #10. Center Louri Frejus Zerbo (208-89, currently plays in France) managed to help Sharks Antibes to win against the closely-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (8-11) crushing them 88-68 in the French ProA in Friday night's game. Zerbo scored only one point. Sharks Antibes (9-11) is placed 12th in the ProA. Zerbo has averaged so far 1.3ppg and 2.0rpg. He is a former international player as five years ago he still played for the Ivorian senior national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Bryan Pamba-Juille (184-92, currently plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned Guy Landry Edi and both played together in the last French ProB game. Pamba-Juille couldn't help Nantes in their game against JA Vichy. He cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. Pamba-Juille recorded only one point and added 5 assists. His team was defeated 82-73. Pamba-Juille has averaged so far 4.1ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.7apg. He used to play for the Ivorian national team two years ago.

   #12. Former U19 international center Dalen Traore (206, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Evansville win their game against the Valparaiso University 63-59 in the NCAA last Thursday. He recorded only 2 points. Traore has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 2.8rpg. He used to play for the Ivorian U19 national team back in 2013.


The list of other players, who all have Ivorian passport but never been selected to any of Ivorian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Herve Toure (205-PF-82, currently plays in Liga Americas) led his Venezuelan team Guaros to a victory over the eighth-ranked San Salvador crushing them 94-73 in the Liga Americas last Saturday. Toure was the best player in that game. He scored 19 points and blocked 2 blocks. Guaros de Larais placed fourth in group F. This season Toure has relatively solid stats: 14.5ppg and 4.0rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and French.

   #2. Bazoumana Kone (190-G-93, college: Bremerhaven, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in Braunschweig's victory against the eighth-ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (12-10) 77-74 in the German BBL in Thursday night's game. He scored 16 points and added 4 assists (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Basketball Loewen Braunschweigis placed in the BBL. This season Kone averages: 8.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 3.1apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and German. Despite Kone's Ivorian nationality, he currently plays for the German university national team and is not eligible to play for the Ivorian team.

   #3. Alain Koffi (207-C-83, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in France) contributed to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's victory against the league outsider Chalon/Saor (6-14) 105-93 in the French ProA last Saturday. Koffi scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 28 minutes. Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (9-11) is placed 13th in the ProA. Koffi has reliable stats this year: 11.5ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.2apg in 20 games he played so far. He has both Ivorian and French nationalities.

   #4. Adjehi Baru (206-F-91, agency: KMG Sports Management, college: Charleston, currently plays in Bulgaria) could not help Beroe (4-0) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Baru's good performance the league leader Beroe was crushed 85-53 on the road by the lower-ranked Academik Plovdiv (#3). He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 13 rebounds. It's Baru's first season with the team. Baru has reliable stats this year: 12.6ppg, 8.6rpg and 1.3spg.

   #5. Dane Watts (203-F-86, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Oettinger Rockets Gotha in their game against EWE Baskets (13-9) in the German BBL. Watts scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. It was his first game for Oettinger Rockets Gotha this season. Oettinger Rockets Gotha was badly defeated 88-68 in Oldenburg by the much higher-ranked EWE Baskets (#6). It was Oettinger Rockets Gotha's fifth consecutive loss in a row. Watts also holds two passports: Ivorian and American.

   #6. Samuel Amed Diomande (193-G-88, currently plays in Norway) was not able to secure a victory for Ammerud Bskt (7-16) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Diomande's good performance Ammerud Bskt was badly defeated 88-68 at home by the higher-ranked Tromso (#7). He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Diomande also added 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Diomande has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.2apg and 2.2spg. Diomande holds both Norwegian and Ivorian passports.

   #7. Yoann Louis Folquet (185-G, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the University of Laval in their game against the Gaiters in the Canadian university league CIS. Folquet cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and added 8 passes in 23 minutes. His team lost 74-80. Folquet has averaged so far 3.7ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.8apg in 10 games.

   #8. Karamoko Cisse (201-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Rider University in a victory against the Manhattan College 77-73 in the NCAA in Friday night's game. Cisse scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. Cisse has averaged so far 2.5ppg and 2.1rpg in 23 games.

   #9. Ismael Sanogo (203-G-96, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Seton Hall in their game against the Georgetown University in the NCAA. Sanogo recorded 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 34 minutes. His team was edged 83-80. Sanogo has averaged so far 5.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.1bpg in 22 games. He holds both American and Ivorian passports.

MOHAMED TOURE Winterass Omnia Basket Pavia (Serie B) signed 27-year old naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92). He played last season at Fiorentina. In 19 Serie B games he had 10.3ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.3apg. Toure ended the previous (2017-18) season at Fiat (Serie A). But in four games he did not score anything and had only 2 assists. ABC enter the Finals - 3 days ago
ABC entered the Finals as they swept the semifinal series against Ivestp. In the second game they posted a comfortable 96-47 victory. Earlier in the Quarterfinals ABC edged GSPM 2-0. In another semifinal series Azur and CSA are tied at 1-1. Both teams overcame their opponents in the quarterfinal series 2-1.   [read more]

JEAN-FRANCOIS KEBE Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball (ProB) re-signed 24-year old Ivorian point guard Jean-Francois Kebe (185-94). He has played there for the last two seasons. Kebe's team made it to the NM1 Play-Offs Semifinals in 2018. He has played previously for four other teams: Nantes, GET Vosges, Carquefou and Orchesien BC.
