Here is the weekly review of the top performing Ivorian players, who play currently abroad.


Moussa Kone
Moussa Kone
   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, currently plays in Spain). He led Navarra to a victory against the 13th-ranked Plasencia (6-10) 89-75 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Sunday night's game. Kone recorded 13 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals in a mere 19 minutes on the court. KIA Sakimovil Navarra de Pamplona (9-7) is placed seventh in the LEB Silver. It's Kone's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 13.9ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 61.8%(89-144) and FT: 68.9% in 16 games he played so far. Kone has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and American. He played for the Ivorian senior national team three years ago.

Dalen Traore
Dalen Traore
   #2. Second place goes to former U19 international center Dalen Traore (206, currently plays college basketball in the States). He managed to help University of Evansville to win against the Missouri State University 64-55 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Traore scored 5 points. The University of Evansville has conference record this season. This year Traore averages: 3.2ppg, 3.1rpg, 2FGP: 37.1% and FT: 82.4%. He played for the Ivorian U19 national team in 2013.

   #3. The Ivorian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international small forward Ismael N'Diaye (197-82, college: FIU, currently plays in Switzerland). N'Diaye could not help Lakers (1-14) to beat Pully (7-5). He scored 5 points in 14 minutes. The bottom-ranked Lakers lost 61-67 at home to the much higher-ranked (#3) Pully. It was Lakers' 14th consecutive loss in a row. This year N'Diaye's overall stats are: 7.2ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 47.4% and FT: 63.6% in 13 games. He played for the Ivorian national team two years ago.

   #4. Swingman Issife Soumahoro (197-88, currently plays in France) was not able to help Brissac-Aubance in their game against Saint Vallier (15-1) in the French NM1 (third division). Soumahoro recorded only 4 points in 24 minutes. Brissac-Aubance was crushed 74-36 on the road by the leading Saint Vallier. It was Brissac-Aubance's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Soumahoro's total stats are: 7.1ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.4apg in 16 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and French. Soumahoro used to play for the Ivorian national team back in 2016.

   #1. Bazoumana Kone (190-G-93, college: Bremerhaven, currently plays in Germany) managed to help Basketball Loewen Braunschweig to win against the 12th-ranked Science City Jena (7-9) 69-68 in the German BBL last Friday. Kone scored 5 points. Basketball Loewen Braunschweigis placed in the BBL. This season Kone averages: 7.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 3.1apg. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and German.

   #2. Karamoko Cisse (201-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an Rider's surprising victory against the Fairfield University 96-77 in the NCAA on Saturday night. Cisse recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in only 13 minutes. The Rider University has conference record this season. This year Cisse averages: 3.4ppg and 2.5rpg in 16 games he played so far.

   #3. Mohamed Toure (190-G-92, currently plays in Italy). Toure could not help Agribertocchi OR (3-12) to beat Treviso Basket (7-8). He did not beat the league record on Sunday evening. Toure scored only 2 points. The 14th-placed Agribertocchi OR (3-12) was crushed 92-53 at home by the higher-ranked Treviso Basket (#11) in the East group. It was Agribertocchi OR's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Toure's total stats this season are: 5.7ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.3apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and Italian.

   #4. Ismael Sanogo (203-G-96, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the one of league's weakest teams Seton Hall (8-1) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance the Seton Hall was badly defeated 84-64 on their home court in South Orange by the Marquette University. Sanogo scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sanogo has been at the team for four years. He has averaged so far 3.7ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.1bpg and 1.1spg. Sanogo has both American and Ivorian nationalities.

LEB Gold newcomer Comercial Ulsa Ciudad de Valladolid inked 24-year old Ivorian center Aboubacar Hima (207-94). He is not a newcomer in Spanish League as he played most recently at Electro Mercantil Plasencia in the LEB Silver. In 29 games he recorded 10.6ppg and 7.4rpg last season. The previous (16-17) season Hima played at Estudiantes (EBA) where in 19 games he averaged 13.6ppg and 8.5rpg. Hima's team won Spanish LEB Silver Cup in 2014. ALAIN KOFFI Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (ProA) re-signed experienced 34-year old French international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: BeoBasket). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Ivorian passport. Koffi has played there for the last two seasons. In 34 ProA games he averaged 10.4ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.1apg last season. CEDRIC BAH BC Souffelweyersheim (NM1) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old Ivorian center Cedric Bah (198-94). It is actually his comeback to Souffelweyersheim as he has played here before.
