Mozambique recorded the first win at the 2023 AfroBasket. They stormed past Guinea to bounce back from the starting loss. Leia Dongue (185-F/C-1991) came up with 25 points to pace the winners.
Mozambique recorded a comfortable 47-12 halftime lead. They erupted for 52 points in the second half and raced to the win. Ingvild Agostinho and Chanaya Pinto (185-F-2000) posted 13 points each for the winners. Fatoumata Jallow (170-G-1997, college: Bryant) answered with 18 points for Guinea.
