Cubanitos Stun Sporting, Niki Basket Sweep Into the Final

The Guinea-Bissau Division 1 final is set, and only one of the regular season's two front-runners made it through. Niki Basket booked their place with a clean semifinal sweep, while top-listed Sporting Basket were knocked out by Cubanitos in a comeback upset, setting up a Niki Basket-Cubanitos championship series.
Sporting Basket and Niki Basket had finished the regular season tied at the top, both 6-1, clear of a three-way logjam at 4-3 between Ajuda, Cubanitos and Hosson LTD. AD Basket (2-5), DE Mattias Sport (1-6) and IP9 (1-6) rounded out the eight-team table.
Niki Basket handled their semifinal with ease, beating Ajuda Basket 74-66 in the opener and pulling away for a more comfortable 66-48 win in Game 2 to close the best-of-three series 2-0.
Cubanitos took the harder road. After being blown out 69-47 by Sporting Basket in Game 1, the fourth-seeded side flipped the series, grinding out a 55-43 win in Game 2 to force a decider, then edging Sporting 58-50 in Game 3 to win it 2-1 and eliminate one of the league's regular-season pacesetters.
The final between Niki Basket and Cubanitos is yet to be scheduled.
