Ahly Benghazi signs Parrish Petty

Al Alhy Benghazi (D1) signed experienced 35-year old American (has also Bissau-Guinean passport) point guard Parrish Petty (185cm-86kg-1988, college: UTRGV) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Petty has played for the last five years at Shahrdari Gorgan in Iranian Superleague. In 11 West Asia Super League games he had very impressive stats: 18.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.1apg and 1.4spg last season.
He is quite experienced player. Petty has played in eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Belarus (BC Minsk), France (Sluc Nancy), Greece (AS Apollon Patras and Ifaistos), Hungary (Kormend and Szolnok), Italy (RO Virtus and Pesaro), Lebanon (Moutahed), Lithuania (Dzukija), Romania (Giurgiu), Slovakia (Vahostav-Zilina), Venezuela (Trotamundos) and PBA (Cent.Illinois D.). Petty won Iranian Superleague championship title in 2021, 2022 and 2023. He was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
He graduated from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2011 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player. Petty played also for Santa Clara University for one year.
