This past weekend was a big one on the boards for Ghanaian players plying their trade in foreign leagues in Europe and the United States. Ben Bentil, Ernest Aflakpui and Amida Brimah were in explosive form snatching rebounds in double figures.

Aflakpui had a 21 point, 15 rebound production in Temple University's 70-77 loss to Penn State University in the United States National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). The loss was Temple's fourth in 18 games.

Aflakpui played 30 minutes as a starter at the Power Forward position and led all players in points in rebounds. Eight of Aflakpui's total rebound tally came on the offensive end and is likely to feature prominently in the Owls upcoming game against Memphis on Thursday, January 24.

In the NBA Gatorade League, Amida Brimah had his share of the double double plate by registering 11 points and 10 rebounds as a back up. The 6 foot 11 inch defender played 23 minutes off the bench and led all players in blocks with seven for Austin Spurs.

Spurs clinched a 100-86 win over Iowa Wolves ahead of Saturday, January 26 matchup against Texas Legends. Spurs will be in action early next month in Rio de Janeiro for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup as defending G League Champions.

In the Greece A1 Basketball League, Ben Bentil grabbed 10 rebounds and scored four points as Peristeri GS fell 70-96 to AEK Athens. The loss is Peristeri's second in a row and sees the team fall to fourth from third.
