As qualification games for the next Sprite Ball Championship heats up, the list of big names missing out on Ghana High School Basketball continues to grow. Heavyweights in the West African nation's Central Region were next to fall.

St. Augustine's College, Wesley Girls High School and Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School have all missed out on qualifying to represent the region at the national competition in Ghana's capital, Accra, next year.

Following the conclusion of qualifying games earlier today in Cape-Coast, Mfantsipim School and Adisadel College progressed from the Boys Division while Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School picked the sole ticket in the Girls Division.

Mfantsipim beat Adisadel 23-16 in the final game with both teams already guaranteed a spot at Sprite Ball.2016 Champions St. Augustine's placed third after clinching a 20-10 win over Adankwaman Senior High School.

Mfantsiman Girls had missed playing at Sprite Ball in the past two editions but gained confidence ahead of today's qualifiers after eliminating two time national winners Aggrey Memorial at the zonal level. The team proceeded to beat Wesley Girls to the region's only qualification spot via a 7-6 win in the final game.

Wesley Girls are the record winners in the Female Division with three titles to its name.
