It was a night of mixed emotions for Ghana Center Amida Brimah on the opening night of Austin Spurs campaign in the 2018-2019 NBA Gatorade League. Spurs lost 120-126 at home to Texas Legends in the first game of the season.

The disappointing result masked a wonderful night for the Ghanaian who received his Championship ring for guiding Austin to last season's title. Amida led the league in blocks during last year's regular season in his first year as a professional. He proceeded to score a 20 point, 10 rebound double double in the game.

Brimah started off the bench and produced the eye catching stat line which included an assist and a block in just 25 minutes of play. The former University of Connecticut Captain converted 10 of 13 field goal attempts while gathering five offensive rebounds and doing same on the defensive end.

The 6 foot 11 inch Brimah, Julian Washburn, Jaron Blossomgame and Jeff Ledbetter played on last season's championship winning team but have returned for another run with Spurs. Amida was waived by San Antonio Spurs prior to the team's preseason run of games.

Austin Spurs play Northern Arizona Suns in the next game on Saturday, November 10.
