Two games will be played tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu to mark the start of the CAP 7 Memorial Basketball Tournament. The competition runs from September 14 to September 22 and the Lebanon Court will host all games.

The competition is to honour former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi and other legendary figures on the Ghanaian basketball scene who have contributed immensely to the growth of the sport.

Baafi passed away little over a year ago after battling with illness for an extended time. He served in various managerial positions at club and national level after his playing career. He was nicknamed Capito and wore jersey number 7 throughout his playing days.

Eight teams will compete in the Male Division and six teams will play in the Female Division. Top ABL Men's Division I sides including Adenta Leopards, Tema Youth and Tudu Galaxy will feature in the tournament.

All six teams in the ABL Women's Division will play in the competition with league leaders Ghana Police Service headlining the group. Police takes on Ghana Fire Service in the opening game at 16:00 GMT before Tema Youth plays Warriors.

The Lebanon Court has been repainted for the competition to highlight the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Dedication and Valor Prize winner's legacy.
