Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men's Division I Champions Braves of Customs, Tudu Magic and Ghana Fire Service have recorded crucial wins in Week 8 of the 2018 season. Braves beat main rival Tema Youth in the biggest matchup of the round 66-41 in a game Braves dominated from start to finish; at a point in the second quarter, Customs led 32-13.

This was Braves first appearance in the division in over a fortnight as the team spent time in Kenya playing in an international competition. The Male side won four of five games in the tournament.

However, there were very few signs of tiredness in their play as Customs lightning quick start were key in beating Tema Youth in the first of two regular season games this season.
Tudu Magic recovered from a terrible ending in a 55-56 loss to Tema in Week 7 by beating division leaders Adenta Leopards 63-55 ending Leopards four game winning run in the process.

Unlike its horrible play down the stretch where it blew its ten point lead against Tema, Magic held its nerve to see the victory out. Ghana Fire Service won its maiden game of the 2018 season courtesy a hard fought 68-64 victory over Ghana Police who were yet to lose a game prior to the contest. Police trailed 63-64 with 65 seconds remaining but Fire Forward Dennis Dugbennu delivered clutch shots to seal the win.
