The Spanish playoffs have started on a blistering note with European Champions Real Madrid clinching a win while fellow heavyweight Barcelona lost to Andorra. However, Ben Bentil and RetaBet Bilbao Basket are not competing after getting relegated from the top division.

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil did not feature in the last two games of the regular season against UCAM Murcia and Burgos; Bilbao lost 86-90 to Burgos in the season ending Round 34 matchup.

The team ended the campaign with just eight games while recording 26 losses; Bilbao dropped to the lower division on the back of eight straight losses in the league. Real Betis ended a step lower than Bilbao in 18th place.

Bentil started his career in Spain well but the ensuing games were a struggle for the former Dallas Mavericks Forward who had a hard time getting game time and improving his production.

The 6 foot 8 inch Swingman signed for the Spanish side in January this year after completing the first half of the season in France with Champagne Chalons-Reims where he averaged 11.8 points per game.

Bentil is likely to be on the move again after playing for Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers in China and Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Gatorade League. He signed a ten day contract with the Mavericks.
