The 2017-2018 GSP Basketball League concludes this evening at the Eusbett Court in Sunayni as the final fixtures roll out. University of Energy of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and bitter rival Suncity Braves are in a tight race for the regional competition's top prize.

Braves won the title in 2016 and UENR piped them to the title last season and both sides are tied on 24 points with UENR in first place thanks to 31 goals scored ahead of Braves. UENR plays third place side Desert Rabbits while Braves is up against fourth place side LIR Royals.

Barracks Scorpions take on Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints and Sunyani Technical University goes up against West Siders. None of these games will affect the final outcome of positions in the upper half as none of the aforementioned teams will crack the upper half irrespective of a win tonight.

The league's Most Valuable Player Award will be handed to a shortlisted group that has six players. Braves Center Isaac Amponsah, Patrick Asare of Sunyani Technical, Stephen Saforo of Barracks Scorpions and LIR trio Atta Bennett, Abdul Rashid and Andrew Quansah are up for the award.

UNER Point Guard Robert Fiifi Brew won the award last season.
