Eurobasket: Your club has just occupied the 5th room to the 12th Championship of Africa of Clubs Feminine Champions, disputed of the 21 to October 29, 2006, what is your impression?
Paul Elie BEKALE: It is obvious that no positive result can get himself without serious work. We have the path again to make so that our club is better structured and organized well. If we succeed in making it, there is not right that the best results don't follow since we have good athletes…
We are not surprised of our 5th room; we had confidence to our girls who were better in relation to the group than we had the past year in Dakar and much better in relation to the one of Bamako. The objective of our club was to cross at least the first tower; by that to Bamako, we had already gone in quarter of finale, we were 7th; it is very well for our girls who went up at home of a spunk while occupying the 5th room that situates, I think our present level.
Eurobasket: What of those that think do you say that leaders of SOMO B make the social with the technical direction and players?
Paul Elie BEKALE: Certainly, we make a lot of the social, but of general manner our players (all disconcerted sections) miss all. To bring them to play the basketball it is necessary to put in room a minimum environment. We lodge them and let's take care of to expenses of the club. That want yourselves are himself of compatriots.
Eurobasket: Does one speak in fact, of more required lack on behalf of leaders of SOMO B on behalf of the technical direction and players that make more in the easiness and the insubordination?
Paul Elie BEKALE: It is true that one can have the impression that it is a lack of discipline, but our club constructs himself. To this effect, we cannot compare ourselves to the structured clubs. We try to put on feet a waybill that improves gradually. We sometimes offer towards our technical direction and our players by what they are voluntary. When one has business to a voluntary, one doesn't have the same rigor that with a professional that earns his life from the basketball.
Otherwise, one often makes us the reproach that consists in saying that our trainers are not effective. I want to say that one recruits our trainers because of his states of services and no by its simple good-heartedness. Today, our trainer Antoine BOUSSOUGOU, concerning feminine basketball, he has the best states of room services. He is in a row Champion of Gabon since five years (that the club exists), it won four cups of Gabon etc. It certainly has insufficiencies, but it also has qualities. We always have to heart to first defend our trainers, by what one can find players easily. But it is less obvious for the technical encadreurs.
Eurobasket: Would it mean that SOMO B doesn't go him to know mutations for the next season?
Paul Elie BEKALE: Ah if, we are going to recruit new players. If we think that it is necessary to preserve pivots, solicited today by many clubs, but then, we are going to recruit on the local and international plan.
