Gabon qualified for the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket Qualifiers. They lost to Equatorial Guinea 39:46 in Game 2, however closed the series with a 105-104 win on aggregate. Equatorial Guinea took a 14-9 lead at the start and looked better in the second half posting two narrow wins.
Juan Coffi (193-G-1998, college: CBU) stepped up with 17 points and 14 rebounds, whilst Kingsley Sam collected 12 points and 11 rebounds. Lerry Essono (199-F-1992) answered with 9 points for Gabon.
