Ivory Coast celebrate second win in Yaounde at the AfroBasket 2021 Qualification. Ivory Coast outscored Equatorial Guinea 78-64 in Day 2 for a 2-0 record.
Ivory Coast took a 15-13 lead at the start, however Equatorial Guinea replied with a 20-15 run in the second period and took a 3-point halftime advantage. The second half was decisive for the winners as they produced a 23-14 surge in the third period and closed the game with a final 25-17 run.
Stephane Konate (190-G) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Deon Thompson (204-F-88, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) notched 13. Kingsley Sam and Walter Cabral (200-F-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 19 points in the losing effort.
