Malabo Kings started the game better and won the first period 25:18. The managed to keep the lead in the second frame, while AL Ahly Benghazi reduced to 40:42 at the halftime. The third quarter however was decisive in the game as Libyan team erupted for 81:59 lead after 30 minutes. They saved the win and enjoyed a 92:79 victory in their opener.
Torrington Cox (201-F-85, college: King) followed Craig Winder (188-G-84, college: Texas) with 22 points and 10 rebounds. KHALID MOHAMED scored 17 and MOHAMED BEN MOHAMED added 8. Oscar Ngomo (197-F-90) and Richard Nguema (191-PG-88) ended up with 12 points each in the losing effort. Arturo Noha-Pascual (190-G-80) poured in 11 and FRANCISCO MBA scored 10.
