Malabo King (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old Mali ex-international forward Mamadou Diarra (213-108kg-88, college: Chaminade). He played most recently at Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in the U.S..
The previous (11-12) season Diarra was tested by Union Financiera Baloncesto Oviedo (LEB Silver) in Spanish league. In 11 games he recorded 4.5ppg and 3.5rpg that season.
Last year (a year after he left the college) Diarra was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in eighth round (121th overall).
The former Chaminade University (NCAA Div.II) star is in his third season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as his college team won Pac-10 Tournament in 2009. Diarra was also voted All-PacWest Newcomer of the Year in 2011.
