He moved there from APOEL Nicosia in Cypriot ECOMMBX BL where he played this season. In 14 games he had 14.3ppg, 6.5rpg, 3.4apg, 2.1spg and 1.4bpg. He helped them to make it to the Cypriot Cup Semifinals. Pointer also played for Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) in Egyptian league. In 2015, he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) in the second round (53rd overall). He graduated from St. John's University, and it is his eleventh season in pro basketball. Pointer was a member of the USA Senior National Team during 2020. He is a quite experienced player. Pointer's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in twelve different countries. Pointer tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America. He has played professionally in Bahrain (Al-Manama), Greece (Panionios), Hungary (Alba), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Lebanon (Byblos), Taiwan (Dreamers), Venezuela (Trotamundos), United Arab Emirates (Shabab Al Ahli), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge), Czech Republic (Brno) and The Basketball Tournament (Choice). Among many awards, he won the West Asia Super League Group Gulf Coast championship title in 2025. Pointer was also voted the Eurobasket.com All-Cypriot League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2022.
