Al-Ittihad Alexandria Defeat Al Ahly to Secure Third Place in Egypt Basketball Cup

Al-Ittihad Alexandria claimed third place in the Egypt Men’s Basketball Cup after defeating Al Ahly 84–77 in the third-place playoff held at Dr. Hassan Mostafa Hall in 6th of October City.

Al Ahly started strongly, edging the first quarter 20–19, but Al-Ittihad responded in the second quarter to turn the game around and head into halftime with a 35–32 lead.

The Alexandrian side maintained their momentum in the third quarter, extending their advantage to 63–50, before controlling the final period to seal an 84–77 victory and secure the bronze medal.

Al-Ittihad had fallen in the semi-finals to Telecom Egypt (75–72), while Al Ahly were defeated by Zamalek (71–60).

The final is set to tip off shortly at 8:00 PM, featuring Zamalek vs Telecom Egypt at the same venue.
