Al Ahly dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to NBEC's 16. They outrebounded NBEC 57-32 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al Ahly looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international power forward Raneem Elgedawy (193-1997, college: WKU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international guard Nadine Soliman (178-1998, college: UNCG) chipped in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Al Ahly's coach Tarek Abouzeid felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Farida Youssef (166-2003) responded with 21 points and Yasmine Emad scored 11 points and 5 rebounds.
