Al Ahly Cairo adds Lofton to their roster, ex Homentmen

Zach Lofton

Defending champion Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) added to their roster 33-year old American guard Zach Lofton (193cm-82kg-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports). He just played at Homentmen in Lebanese DLBL. In two games he recorded 15.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.0apg and 1.0spg this season. He also played for Mars (TPBL) in Taiwanese league.
Lofton is a highly experienced player. He has played professionally in eleven different countries across four continents - Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. His career includes stints in Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), China (Liaoning Yi Sheng), Germany (Seawolves), Kuwait (Kazma), Philippines (Bolts), Taiwan, Libya (Al Ittihad Tri and Ahly Benghazi), NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold), NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks), and The Basketball Tournament (Panamaniacs).
Among many awards, he won the Bahrain League championship title in 2025. Lofton was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Player of the Year and Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Defensive Player of the Year during 2025.
He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2018 and is in his eighth season as a professional player. Lofton played for other colleges such as Texas Southern University, University of Minnesota, Illinois State University, and San Jacinto College.
