Elgedawy's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old power forward Raneem Elgedawy (193-F/C-1997) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Al Ahly Cairo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
She had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed Shooting (#11, 4-5) with 21-point margin 74-53. It allowed Al Ahly to consolidate first place in the Egyptian Superleague. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Al Ahly keeps a perfect 9-0 record. In the team's last game Elgedawy had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Al Ahly's top player in her first season with the team. Western Kentucky University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Third place about best performers goes to Laila Khaled of Al Zohour SC (#4). Khaled showcased her all-around game by recording 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Al Zohour, leading her team to a 68-63 win against slightly lower-ranked Al Shams (#5, 5-2). Al Zohour needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Khaled has a great season in Egypt. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.3ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 9.3rpg (8th best).
