Alaa's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Huda Alaa had an amazing evening in the last round for National Bank of Egypt Club and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
She had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, while her team crushed Olympic (#13, 1-4) with 22-point margin 82-60. Thanks to this victory NBEC moved-up to the 4th position in Egyptian Superleague. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but NBEC already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Alaa had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be NBEC's top player in her first season with the team.

Second best performed player last round was Magali Mendy (178-G-1990) of Gezert El Ward Cairo. She is French guard in her first season at El Ward. In the last game Mendy recorded an impressive double-double of 19 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as El Ward lost that game 55-62 to slightly higher-ranked Wadi Degla (#11, 2-5). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. El Ward dropped in the standings to 12th position. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory El Ward managed to get this year. Mendy is a newcomer at El Ward and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Hagar Amer (184-F-1993) of league's second-best Alexandria Sporting Club. Amer scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Alexandria, leading her team to a 66-61 win against the lower-ranked Al Gezira (#14, 1-5). Alexandria started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Amer turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Amer has a great season in Egypt. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 12.0rpg (2nd best).
