Oraby's 29 points and 8 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

34-year old center Omar Oraby (218-C-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Al Ahly Cairo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had the game-high 29 points adding eight rebounds for Al Ahly C. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Sporting (#14, 2-11) 79-65. Al Ahly maintains the 2nd position in Egyptian league. Al Ahly has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 12-1. In the team's last game Oraby had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Ahly's top player in his first season with the team. Omar Oraby averages this season 13.8ppg and 6.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Ahmed Khanka of Smouha Sporting Club. He is a in his first season at Smouha. In the last game Khanka recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds. It was enough for Smouha to edge the higher-ranked Al Ittihad Al. (#1, 12-1) by 5 points 91-86. This victory allowed Smouha to move up to 11th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-7 record. Khanka is a newcomer at Smouha and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ahmed Rehan (195-F-2003) of Sporting Alexandria (#14). Rehan scored 25 points and passed 4 assists. Despite Rehan's great performance the Sporting lost 65-79 to the higher-ranked Al Ahly C. (#2, 12-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Sporting can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Rehan has a very solid season. In 11 games in Egypt he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 4.4rpg and a FGP of 56.8%.
