Pierre Jackson claims Egyptian Superleague Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American Pierre Jackson (180-G-1991, agency: Slash Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Al Ittihad Alexandria and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 34-year old guard got a double-double of 29 points and 11 assists, while his team edged out WE Sporting (#6, 7-6) 108-106. It allowed Al Ittihad Al. to consolidate first place in the Egyptian Superleague. Al Ittihad Al. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 12-1. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Al Ittihad Al.'s top player in his first season with the team. Baylor University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jackson is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.1ppg) and averages solid 42.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American shooting guard Kyndall Dykes (192-SG-1987, agency: Slash Sports) of Petrojet Sporting Club Cairo. Dykes impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Petrojet lost that game 75-80 to the higher-ranked Al Gezira (#10, 6-7). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Petrojet dropped in the standings to very bottom position. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Petrojet managed to get this year. Dykes is a newcomer at Petrojet and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#3). He also registered 6.3 boards per game. University of New Orleans alumni Dykes played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was Ahmed Samy of Al Gezira Cairo (#10). Samy scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Al Gezira, leading his team to a 80-75 win against the lower-ranked Petrojet (#16, 1-12). The chances of Al Gezira ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Samy could help Al Gezira to bring them higher in the standings. Samy has a very solid season. In 13 games in Egypt he scored 14.6ppg.
