Pointer comes back to APOEL Nicosia, ex Al Ahly C.

Sir'Dominic Pointer

APOEL Nicosia (ECOMMBX BL) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old USA ex-international 198cm swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (college: St.John's). It is actually his comeback to Nicosia as he has played here before. He started the season at Al Ahly Cairo in Egyptian Superleague. In 7 games he recorded 8.9ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.7spg. He helped them to win the Supercup. The last season season he played at Shabab Al Ahli Dubai (ULB) in UAE league.
In 2015 he was drafted by Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) in second round (53rd overall). The former St. John's University standout is in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Pointer was a member of USA Senior National Team back in 2020.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Pointer's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in ten different countries. Pointer has played professionally in Bahrain (Al-Manama), Greece (Panionios), Hungary (Alba), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Lebanon (Byblos), Taiwan (Dreamers), Venezuela (Trotamundos), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge), Czech Republic (Brno) and The Basketball Tournament (Choice).
Among many awards he won West Asia Super League Group Gulf Coast championship title in 2025. He was also voted to Eurobasket.com All-Cypriot League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2022.
